The freedom to be almost anything is one of the hallmarks of a great RPG. Plenty of interesting archetypes exist that potentially allows the player to witness Fallout 3 in a completely different light. Although the options available may seem limited by today's standards, there's always a different way to play. The roleplaying aspect stands, unsurprisingly, at the core of the game's experience. Well I suppose if you play Very Hard setting it'll be handy. But otherwise if you're softening them up first with gunfire or using sneak criticals, it's overkill and a waste of three perks. If you're always going in to attack head-on, it'll definately be useful. Players, however, can never go wrong with these archetypes as they venture through the wasteland. There is a myriad of different ways Fallout 3 can be played. In Fallout 3, you gain a perk every level (as opposed to every three levels in Fallout and Fallout 2, and every two in Fallout: New Vegas ). The good news is that there is no right or wrong answer. Outside of roleplaying, choosing a "build" will have a marked effect on how the gameplay is approached. One of the most important decisions a player must make occurs at the very start of the game. Players must ask themselves, just what kind of character do they want to be? Like any great RPG, Fallout 3 gives the player a remarkable amount of freedom to make their own choices. Nuclear Anomaly – Has a high risk of killing yourself at higher difficulties.Despite its age, Fallout 3 is still a popular as well as revered game. Rad Absorption – Useless as you likely already have a lot of Rad-X and Rad-away at this level as well as you medic station in your home Warmonger – Useless as you likely already have found all schematics by this level Rad tolerance – Removes the negative effect of the lowest level of radiation (Useless as you most likely won’t ever want to be radiated) With the Superior Defender perk, you gain +5 to your damage and +10 to your armor rating when standing still. No Weakness – Raise all SPECIAL stats to 5, just a worse version of “Almost perfect” Even more worthless on PC as there is a console command that does the same thing. Infiltrator – Get a second chance if you force locks on doors, you should never have to force locksĬomputer Whiz – Get a second chance if you get locked out of PC’s, useless as you can just back out and go back in to refreshĮxplorer – Gain the locations on the map, but you are not able to fast travel to them. Lawbringer – Adds “fingers” to evil characters, gain caps and positive karma. Night Person – Temporary +2 int and +2 Per during Night, doesn’t effect anything good also you already likely have 10 int alreadyĪdamantium Skeleton – Just adds +50% DR to limbs, but only for LIMB damage not health damage Pyromaniac – Adds damage to fire weapons, but not all of them. Most of the Perks listed in this build are solely for the purpose of supporting your teammates on the battlefield via healing, restoring thirst and hunger. Here and Now – Just XP to gain another level, waste of a perk point Swift learner – Adds extra XP, waste of perkįortune Finder – Gives slightly more caps, waste of a perk as you never run dry on caps
